The Harry McKillop Humanitarian Award

Award

The Harry McKillop Irish Spirit Award was established by Ross Perot in 2003 to honor the life and work of his friend and business associate, whose lifelong commitment to principle and “Irish Spirit” values have fueled his dedication to helping people and saving lives as opportunities arise.

It is awarded annually to a person of Irish or Irish-American descent in recognition of extraordinary acts of humanitarianism benefiting others and their local communities. The purpose is to recognize individuals and to stimulate similar civic spirit among others. The Harry McKillop Irish Spirit Award highlights and embodies the significant difference that individuals can make in their community.

The Board of Trustees considers nominees annually. The awardee receives a Waterford crystal trophy and $25,000 which is given to the awardee’s nominated charity.

Mr. McKillop serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees. The members include distinguished individuals from Northern Ireland, Southern Ireland and the United States of America. Contact: tbrownedsl@eircom.net or Catherine.hughes@hillwood.com
