Redmond O’Donoghue Redmond O’Donoghue has been Group Chief Executive Officer of Waterford Wedgwood plc since November of 2001. Waterford Wedgwood is a leading lifestyle company that includes prestigious brands like Waterford Crystal, Wedgwood, Rosenthal and All-Clad. Prior to his current position, Mr. O’Donoghue held several other key posts with the company. Redmond was appointed Chief Executive of Waterford Crystal in 1996 after serving as Chief Operating Officer. Mr. O’Donoghue joined the company as Sales and Marketing Director of Waterford Crystal in 1985. Before joining Waterford Wedgwood, Mr. O’Donoghue spent 17 years with the Ford Motor Company where he held various sales and marketing roles in Ireland, Britain and Spain. From 1999 to 2001, Mr. O’Donoghue was invited by the Irish government to be non-executive Chairman of Bord Failte, the Irish tourism board. He was also appointed by the government to serve as non-executive Chairman of the Waterford Institute of Technology. He has served in the past as Chairman of the Marketing Institute of Ireland and has been President of the Waterford Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Mr. O’Donoghue serves as Director of Greencore plc; and is a member of the Board of Beat 102-103, a new regional youth radio station in the Southeast of Ireland. He is also a member of the National Executive Council of Irish Business and Employers Confederation. He is trustee of the Irish Youth Foundation and Chairman of the Marketing Committee of the Ireland Fund. Redmond O’Donoghue grew up in Waterford where he attended Waterpark College. He graduated with a degree in commerce from University College in Dublin. In 1988, he completed the advanced management programme at the Harvard Business School. Mr O’Donoghue lives in Waterford and is married to Anthea Goodbody. The couple has two children, Chris and Lynn. |
